HOME ABOUT VENUE HIRE GALLERY WHAT'S ON CONTACT
Back in spring 2014 we held a 3D art course.  It prompted a great amount of interest. This page will hopefully further that interest and develop investigation both as observers and also for people to try and expand their own ideas into practical reality.
A worthwhile visit would be the monster sculpture trail in Hainault Forest.  Most of the sculptures are carved from trees or fallen trees and exceed 30 in number, they need to be found,  but there is a well marked path. After the walk the welcoming, family friendly Two Brewers serves food all day and is only a stones throw from the Common car park.  The entry to the walk is through the car park which is opposite Chigwell Row Infants School, Lambourne Road.
Lynn Russell Chadwick 1914—2003 was born in Barnes, London. He trained as an architect but was known for his semi abstract bronze and steel sculptures.  His work is displayed in many national art galleries round the world including the Tate Britain. The best place to see his work displayed is at Lypiatt Sculpture Park, Bisley, Gloucestershire; which was his home and studio till his death.
Paper Mache— versatile material using PVA glue (water based plastic glue) and a variety of binding papers & fabrics.  Get cheap glue, not wood glue as it dries waterproof.  Use a framework (wire, wood, boxes) on which to form the shape layer by layer.  Release agents such as cling film will help to remove finished model from a template. Start small to discover the  techniques and qualities of different papers.  Water down the glue to make it go further.              johnhart80@gmail.com
