LifeWorks mission is

to connect people with

Christ, build Christ-centered

community and serve

Loughton through the

creative arts.

Our vision is to celebrate the Creative Arts and to bring life in all its fullness to the community of Loughton and beyond by offering quality opportunities in the Creative Arts and release God- given creativity. We have two multi-purpose rooms which are used for a variety of programmes and are available for hire. LifeWorks is home to the Christian Drama Resource Centre (CDRC), a charity that supports dramatic arts in the local area, through the loan of theatrical costumes and the provision of educational services, storytelling, and drama.

LifeWorks Hub

LifeWorks Hub, launching in Autumn 2017, aims to be a space where people can be inspired, create, be creative and build community. LifeWorks has developed a programme of live performance, exhibitions and creative arts projects and events and offer educational workshops and programmes. LifeWorks is specially designed to meet the various and unique needs of the community.

Our Beliefs

We believe the transformative power and inclusive nature of the arts has a role to play in the Church’s mission. We believe that access to quality arts should be available to people of all ages and backgrounds. We seek to provide a loving, supportive and safe environment that uses the creative arts to instil confidence in people. We support educators by providing quality resources to enhance their work. We believe in working in partnership with artists by providing professional and affordable space in which they can release their potential.

Our History

LifeWorks started with an idea from Loughton Methodist Church - what if there was a space in Loughton where artists of all backgrounds and disciplines could gather to create, learn and share their work? The idea remained an idea for thirty years, until the Christian Drama Resource Centre (CDRC) was growing too big for its space. Funding became available for CDRC to expand, and suddenly the idea for a centre for the arts became possible - along with offices and storage for CDRC, LifeWorks was built with that same original vision in mind - to celebrate and encourage the arts in Loughton. Complete with 2 multi-functional rooms, kitchen and toilet facilities, a courtyard and terrace, LifeWorks invites you to join us in our adventure in the Creative Arts.
